John Mattson
Biographical Information
2007
In
February 2007, John Mattson will
join the administration of the Fisher Graduate School of International Business
at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California, where
he will serve as the Director of Career Management and Employer Relations. Currently, Mattson is Director of Career
Services and External Relations at the Graduate School of Management at Clark University
in Worcester, Massachusetts. While at Clark, he was instrumental in
developing the business school’s new Stevenish
Career Management
Center and served as
Managing Editor of the School’s alumni publication, Connect. Prior to joining
Clark he was a Career Management Consultant with Career Crossroads in Carlisle, Massachusetts,
where he served as a consultant and coach to clients in career transition.
Previously,
Mattson served as the founding Director of the Feld
Career Center
at the School of Management
at Boston University
and Director of Career Services at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Earlier in his career he worked at Wesleyan University
in Middletown, Connecticut,
where he served as Associate Director of its Career Center. Mattson has also worked for The Career
Development Team of New York City and with Keystone Partners in Burlington, Massachusetts. These assignments have involved working with
clients such as AT&T, Avid, New York Life, NEC Technologies, and United
Technologies Corporation.
Over
the years, Mattson has also been an instructor of seminars and courses on
career development offered at colleges and community education programs in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Throughout his career he has moderated over
100 career panels with leading business professionals at such venues as CBS
News, Exxon-Mobil, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Co., Newsweek, the U.S.
Treasury and the Departments of Commerce, State, and Defense, as well as The
United Nations and The World Bank.
John Mattson is a graduate of Boston University
and Tufts University where he received his
Master’s degree. He is a trustee of Dublin School,
in Dublin New
Hampshire, and a former member of the Advisory
Council of the United Nations Association of Greater Boston. In his leisure time, he enjoys the arts, golf,
photography, and international travel.
